Snow begins to stick to roads in Clarksville-Montgomery County

Ice and Snow means Take it SlowClarksville, TN – As the sun sets and snow continues to fall, highways and side roads are beginning to become snow covered in Clarksville-Montgomery County. Snow will continue to fall in the area this evening and is not expected to dissipate until later tonight.

In addition, wet roads and dropping temperatures will create patches of ice on roads. This along with the snow will create hazardous road conditions in Clarksville-Montgomery County overnight.

The National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory for the area until 6:00am CT Wednesday morning, February 10th, 2016. Total snow accumulation is expected between 1 to 3 inches.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Bedford County, Cannon County, Cheatham County, Coffee County, Davidson County, Dickson County, Montgomery County, Rutherford County, Stewart County, Williamson County, and Wilson County.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

If at all possible, please stay at home Wednesday morning. If you must go out, leave in plenty of time to arrive at your destination. Remember to take it slow in the morning.
