Kleeman Center offers new session of visual healing arts program

If you are searching for a way to relax, VIVID’s visual healing arts program could be just what you’re looking for. Come unlock your mind, body, and soul while learning the techniques of creating art. A new session begins February 15th and meets every Monday from 10:00am-11:30am at the Kleeman Community Center through March 7th.

New Salsa Dance Class

It is hard to resist the lively music and hip-swinging movements of the Kleeman Center’s newest dance program. In this weekly class, participants are taught simple dance steps and will combine them to complete the salsa dance.

Class is open to ages 13 and up and meets every Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Cost is $7.00 per class or $20.00 for the four-week program.

Registration is underway for Youth Recreation Leagues

Registration for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues is underway. Participants can register now through March 28th at any of our three community centers, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office as well as online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec

The baseball, softball and t-ball leagues are open to youth ages 5-14. For first time participants, birth certificates are required at time of registration to verify the child’s age.

Once again, Parks and Recreation will be offering Blastball® for boys and girls ages 3-4. Blastball® is a fun alternative to traditional t-ball and uses a “honking” base to entertain younger plays, bringing excitement to learning the fundamentals. This league concentrates on developing a child’s running, hitting, catching, fielding and throwing skills.

The cost to play in any of the Youth Recreation Leagues is $40.00 per child and includes a team shirt, hat, and medal. Beginning May 2nd, each team will practice at least once a week. When games begin on June 6th, teams will have one practice a week and one game a week. All games will be played at the Heritage Park Baseball Complex beginning June 4th.
