Brentwood, TN – Senior guard Tiasha Gray, of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, picked up her third adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honor, Tuesday.
Gray led Austin Peay to an 80-70 victory against league-leading UT Martin, Saturday, scoring 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting.
In addition, Gray had four rebounds, four assists and two steals all while playing the entire 40 minutes.
It broke a recent streak of frustration for the Clarksville native, who did not play more than 30 minutes or top 20 points in her previous three outings. That streak included a 13-point performance at Eastern Illinois, Wednesday, in her season’s shortest outing as she played just 24 minutes before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Gray shared the February 16th honor with Murray State sophomore guard Ke’Shunan James, who averaged 19 points per game in wins against Southeast Missouri and SIU Edwardsville last week. Gray and James will meet on the hardwood when Murray State visits Austin Peay, 4:00pm, Saturday.
Before that meeting, Austin Peay travels to SIU Edwardsville for an 11:30am, Wednesday contest that will wrap up the Govs 2015-16 road slate.
