Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

This weeks highlights include: Clarksville Downtown Market Vendor Applications, 38th annual Queen City Road Race, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Job Fair, Spring Break Tumbling Camp, Veteran’s Recreation Fair, and Daddy-Daughter Date Night.

2016 Clarksville Downtown Market

Vendor Applications are now available

Do you want to sell your homegrown or homemade items this summer? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation is now accepting applications for 2016 Clarksville Downtown Market vendors!

Vendor applications are available online at www.clarksvilledowntownmarket.com and must be submitted no later than April 4th. Any applications received after April 4th will not be considered for the 2016 market. Vendors who have been selected to be a part of the 2016 Market season will be contacted by the Clarksville Downtown Market Manager for payment and further instruction by April 15th.

The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open on Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm, May 21st through October 8th on Public Square.

Register now for the 38th annual Queen City Road Race

It’s time to lace up those running shoes for the Queen City Road Race 5K, 10K, and One Mile Movement, scheduled for Saturday, May 7th. Register now through April 15th to receive the “early bird” rate of only $20.00 for the 5K and $25.00 for the 10K. After that date, you may register through race day, but the cost will be $25.00 for the 5K and $30.00 for the 10K.

Registration for the Queen City Road Race is simple. Those registering may do so online or in person. Online registration can be completed by visiting www.cityofclarksville.com/qcrr

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host Job Fair

For those looking for seasonal and part-time jobs, Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Job Fair may be the solution. The event is scheduled from 10:00am to 3;00pm on Saturday, March 12th at Crow Community Center, located at 211 Richview Road. A variety of positions are available in the department’s Aquatic, Maintenance, and Programming Divisions.

Don’t miss Spring Break Tumbling Camp this March

Clarksville Parks and Recreation has teamed up with American Twisters Tumbling to bring a tumbling camp to the community during the Clarksville Montgomery County School System spring break, March 28th-31st.

Camp will be held at 438 Kelly Lane, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, for ages 6-16. The cost to attend is $40.00 per participant. Space is available but limited, so sign up now by visiting www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec and clicking the link to register online.

Veteran’s Recreation Fair

The Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, is excited to host a free recreation fair for veterans and their families on Saturday, March 5th from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

The fair is a great opportunity for veterans to connect with local agencies and organizations and to preview recreation programs available in our community. Enjoy family activities, demonstrations, music, crafts and fun. Co-sponsored by the USO of Fort Campbell.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night Tickets on Sale

The time is now to purchase your tickets for the 3rd annual Daddy-Daughter Date Night! Clarksville Parks and Recreation is offering a memorable evening for dad and daughter couples on Saturday, April 2nd at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 1190 Cumberland Drive, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night is the perfect place for fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and positive male role-models of all kinds to enjoy an evening with their special girl. Games, food, and giveaways will make this a night they won’t forget.

Tickets are $25.00 per couple and $10.00 for each additional daughter. Register online at www.cityofclarksville.com/datenight , by calling 931.645.7476, or dropping by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, 102 Public Square.
