APSU Baseball will try to keep win streak going at Tennessee Tech

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUCookeville, TN – With back-to-back road wins in hand, Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will look to continue its recent road success in a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against Tennessee Tech, Friday-Sunday, at Bush Stadium.

The series begins with a 6:00pm, Friday contest and continues with a 2:00pm, Saturday contest before concluding 1:00pm, Sunday.

APSU Lady Govs Golf looks to keep momentum going at EKU Colonel Classic

APSU Lady Govs - Austin Peay State UniversityArlington, KY – APSU women’s golf team plans to continue building spring momentum by playing in its third tournament in less than three weeks, Friday and Saturday, in the EKU Colonel Classic, hosted by the University Club at Arlington.

The two-day, 54-hole event will see 36 holes played Friday on the 5819-yard, par-72 course, and the final 18, Saturday.

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting April 1st, 2016

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that on Saturday April 9th, from 7:00am-3:00pm, Interstate 24 eastbound will be closed at Exit 8 (SR 237, Rossview Road) in order to set bridge beams.

Traffic will be detoured at the off ramp and allowed to get back on I-24 on the on ramp. Also, SR 237 (Rossview Road) will be closed during this time.

APSU reports Women Assaulted in front of Browning Building

 

APSU - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – A female reported be assaulted by an unknown male in front of the APSU Browning Building near College Street between 4:30pm and 5:00pm.

The suspect grabbed the female from behind, causing an injury to her face.

Clarksville Transit System will begin Service to Industrial Park Monday, April 4th

 

Clarksville Transit System - CTSClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is excited to announce that the Clarksville Transit System will begin offering bus service to the Clarksville – Montgomery County Industrial Park beginning April 4th, 2016.

“People have been asking for this service for a long time,” explained Mayor McMillan, “But in order to provide the service, we had to have the Urbanized Area in our Metropolitan Transportation Plan extended.”

Due to this, classes and activities are cancelled for the remainder of the day/evening Thursday, March 31st.

Fort Campbell 101st Special Troops Battalion Signal Soldiers sharpen combat skills at FTX

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with 58th Signal Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), set out to sharpen their tactical and technical skills during a week-long field training exercise on Fort Campbell, Kentucky, March 14th-18th.

“The intent of this training exercise was to have the Soldiers establish a signal site, place their defense for the site and to set up their signal assemblages for their individual teams,” said 1st Sgt. Mark Gomez Sr., first sergeant for 58th Sig. Company.

In the past, “Spartan” Company has focused mainly on their technical skills. This time around the Spartans were able to train and grasp a well-rounded understanding of why “Soldiering” skills are extremely important.

Clarksville Police requests public help with Robbery Investigation

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Detective John Bushnell is investigating a Robbery that occurred at the Exxon Hi Road at Exit 11 on March 25th, 2016 between 2:30pm and 3:30pm and is requesting public assistance.

The victims were parked in front of the business in a small black SUV. One victim stated that a big black Dodge pickup truck with front end damage pulled up, and a white male and white female approached them.

Clarksville Police are investigating a robbery that happened at Exxon Hi Road.

Tryout Process Begins With Pre-Audition Clinics on April 3rd

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The 2016 Tennessee Titans Cheerleader auditions will be held Saturday, April 9th at 9:30am, at Nissan Stadium’s West Club, Titans Director of Cheerleading Stacie Kinder announced.

“I’m eagerly anticipating this season’s tryouts because we have the opportunity to add more vibrant women to our talented squad,” Kinder said. “Being a Titans cheerleader is more than just supporting the team from the sidelines. Our women have experienced many national and international opportunities from traveling overseas to visit the U.S. troops to being featured on national television, including numerous awards shows, the Bravo! Network, The Oprah Show and Dr. Oz.”
