Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett states, “This program affords students the opportunity to learn about how county government operates, by giving them a front row seat on decision making committees. It serves as a great learning experience and the students provide a unique perspective to the topics addressed on each committee. We were fortunate to have a great group of students apply last year and I look forward to working with more students this coming year.”

Students chosen to participate will be notified by mail in May, but won’t begin attending committee meetings until the start of the upcoming school year. Most committees meet monthly and take place in the afternoons, lasting approximately an hour. Applications for the 2016-17 school year are available on the Montgomery County Government website at www.mcgtn.org and are due by April 15th.
