APSU Governors Basketball season ends with loss to Kansas at NCAA Tournament

APSU Baskeball GovsDes Moines, IA – APSU found out why Kansas is ranked No. 1 in the country, Thursday.

The Jayhawks used a 16-4 first-half run and were never headed as Austin Peay State University fell, 105-79, in South Region men’s basketball action played at the Wells Fargo Arena. The 31-4 Jayhawks will advance to play UConn in the Round of 32, Saturday.

Clarksville Police arrest Kristy Boase for False Report

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On February 8th, 2016 at 3:32pm, Kristy Boase stated to a Clarksville Police Officer that on February 5th, 2016 at the Walmart on the 3000 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, she was approached by an unknown black male as she was putting groceries in her vehicle that was parked near the fuel pump area of the lot.

She said she noticed the male standing near a vehicle along with two other black males a short distance away. Boase stated that the male said, “Let me help you with the groceries.”

APSU Baseball team at Jacksonville State this weekend

APSU Governors Baseball teamClarksville, TN – Proving it’s never too late for a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference series, Austin Peay State University’s baseball team travels to Jacksonville State in a meeting between early league unbeatens.

The three-game set starts with a 6:00pm, Friday contest at Rudy Abbott Field. The Govs and Gamecocks then will play 1:00pm contests both Saturday and Sunday.

TDOT issues update on Bridge Project at I-24 at Exit 8 in Montgomery County

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the end is in sight for the SR 237 widening and I-24 interchange modification project at Exit 8, Rossview Road in Montgomery County.

The $12.9 million project, which was let to construction in October 2014, is currently on schedule to be completed by the end of May 2016.

APSU Students spend Spring Break doing Community Service

 

APSU - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – During the Spring Break holiday, three groups of APSU students spent a week volunteering on Alternative Break Trips through the Austin Peay State University Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement.  Collectively, these students completed nearly 500 hours of community service.
