Clarksville, TN – APSU men’s tennis team begins a three-match Ohio Valley Conference homestand 2:00pm, Tuesday against Murray State at the Foy Fitness Center outdoor courts.
The Governors (3-8, 2-2 OVC) have won three of their last four matches, two coming against OVC foes SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois.
Austin Peay State University followed up with a victory over NAIA power Lindsey Wilson, 4-3, before its streak ended at Tennessee, Sunday.Austin Peay’s No. 2 doubles tandem of Aleh Drobysh and Almantas Ozelis has maintained an undefeated 4-0 record in OVC play, including five-straight wins since teaming up. In singles, Manuel Montenegro leads the Govs with a 4-7 mark, while Ozelis and Chad Woodham each have three wins.
The Racers (2-18, 0-4 OVC) are seeking their first conference win of 2016 after a slow start to the season. Murray State comes into Tuesday without a win on the road (0-13), including four losses at Tennessee last weekend.
Marcel Ueltzhoeffer leads Murray State in singles wins with seven, while Javier Villar has compiled six.
