Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its festivities for Opening Day presented by First Tennessee on Thursday, April 7th when they begin the 2016 campaign against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

“Opening Day is a time-honored tradition to signal the start of baseball season. Gates to First Tennessee Park are set to open at 5:00pm. At 6:20pm, Megan Barry, Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Sounds Manager Steve Scarsone.

NBC’s “The Voice” contestant Evan McKeel will sing the national anthem. A Richmond, Virginia native, McKeel was a member of “Team Pharrell” on season nine of the show that aired in late 2015.

During the game, the Sounds will unveil a surprise in-game tradition set to take place during the middle of the fifth inning of all 72 home games at First Tennessee Park.

After the game, fans will be treated to the first post-game fireworks show of the 2016 season. Lastly, upon exiting the ballpark, the first 10,000 fans will receive a special ballpark aerial photo taken that night from above First Tennessee Park.

The 2016 season is the Sounds’ 19th year in the Pacific Coast League and their second as the Oakland Athletics’ top affiliate. Season ticket memberships are available now by calling 615.690.4487 or by visiting www.nashvillesounds.com
