Action begins 1:00pm, Friday, with the Governors pole vaulters—including freshman Savannah Amato, who leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks 68th in the NCAA East Region—slated to compete at the Charles M. Rueter Track and Field Complex.

Four events are scheduled for Friday, but the bulk of Austin Peay’s party will compete beginning 9:00am, Saturday with field events before jumping into a rolling track schedule, beginning at noon.

In addition to Austin Peay, area Division I teams scheduled to compete include OVC foes Murray State, Southeast Missouri, SIU Edwardsville, Tennessee State, Jacksonville State and UT Martin.

Two APSU stand-outs who posted excellent outings at this event last season are enjoying solid 2016 campaigns. Terri Morris, whose 57.67 in the 400m placed her fifth a year ago, ranks 81st in the region and fifth in the OVC, while Myiah Johnson‘s sixth-place, 14.10 at the 2015 running of the Hilltopper Relays is comparable to her season-best 14.14 in 2016, good for 88th in the region and fifth in the OVC in the 100m hurdles.

After this weekend, Austin Peay returns home for an extended stay as the Lady Govs will host the 2016 APSU Invitational, April 15th-16th, at Governors Stadium.
