Sykes Funeral Home to hold Tennessee Veterans Museum Grand Opening

Celebrates Grand Opening with a VIP Dinner, Dedication Ceremony and Open House

Clarksville, TN – Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is proud to announce the grand opening of its Tennessee Veterans Museum. A dedication and ribbon­cutting ceremony will be held at the museum on Friday, April 29th followed by an Open House on Saturday, April 30th.

“We created this museum honor and celebrate veterans throughout Montgomery County and beyond,” explains Stewart Sykes, Owner of Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory. “We are truly amazed at how much attention the museum has already attracted.”

Located inside Sykes Funeral Home, the Tennessee Veterans Museum showcases a wide range of memorabilia highlighting veterans from Tennessee and Kentucky, from Sergeant York who served in WWI all the way to Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn. Since opening a few months ago, the museum has already garnered a great deal of local interest. Every day, veterans visit the museum, where they enjoy coffee, watch videos and peruse an array of interesting military keepsakes.

To celebrate the official grand opening of the museum, Sykes Funeral Home will be holding the following events:

• Thursday, April 28th at 6:00pm: VIP Dinner Fort Campbell Post Commanders and their colleagues are invited to this prestigious event. Sergeant Major Gene Overstreet, USMC (Ret.), the 12th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps from 1991 to 1995, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. • Friday, April 29th at 11:00am: Museum Dedication Ceremony This exciting ceremony will feature a ribbon cutting by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.
• Saturday, April 30th from 10:00am to 5:00pm: Open House – The museum will be open to the public all day during our Open House.

All of these events will be held at the Tennessee Veterans Museum, which is located in Sykes Funeral Home at 424 Franklin Street in Clarksville, Tennessee.
