Estimated 112,000 Total Jobs in All Occupations Available Annually Through 2024
Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s long-term industry and occupational employment projections for 2014-2024 released today show the state’s economy is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 1.3 percent with expected total employment of 3,432,960 by 2024 and total annual job openings of 112,880.
The fastest occupational growth will be for physical therapist assistants with an annual average rate of 4.6 percent and projected employment of 3,630.
Rapid growth is expected also for physical therapists (3.95 percent), home health aides (3.90 percent), and nurse practitioners (3.47 percent).
Overall, the Tennessee economy is showing signs of growth in goods-producing, as well as service-providing sectors. The continued increase in technology, rebound in manufacturing and construction, and the large presence of the healthcare sector are expected to offer a variety of jobs for the job seekers.
