O’Reilly was defensive specialist while with the Flames. During her career, she played in 170 sets and recorded 327 digs (1.92 per set).

O’Reilly notched a career-high 16 digs twice during her career, against Virginia and Valparaiso during her freshman season.

O’Reilly will join incoming freshman Ginny Gerig and sophomore Alexandria Thornton on the back row, which was left wanting with April Adams‘ graduation. Adams, who finished the 2015 season second among OVC defenders with 4.46 digs per set (535 digs, 120 sets), was a big part of the Governors defensive plans during the season.

“With two seasons under her belt, Allie will provide instant impact from a playing standpoint as well as a leadership role,” said Governors head coach Taylor Mott. “With April graduating we knew there was a gap to fill in the back row. Allie will be someone who can step in immediately while giving our younger players, including Ginny, an opportunity to grow into the role.”

The 5-4 Elgin, Illinois native enjoyed a stellar prep career at Burlington Central High School, twice setting the program’s single season digs mark: first with 578 digs as a junior then with 681 digs as a senior. She helped lead Burlington Central to the 2013 IHSA Sectional Championship match.
