Liermann — a third baseman from Simi Valley, CA — becomes only the second Austin Peay softball player to earn OVC Freshman of the Year honors, joining Lori McCoy who earned the distinction following the 2003 season.

Her OVC First-Team selection is the 17th overall for Austin Peay, dating back to the 1993 season – and the first for a Gov freshman since catcher Daniella Hooper, following the 2007 season.

Liermann led the Govs in batting average (.361), hits (57), home runs (7) RBIs (36), total bases (89) and slugging percentage (.563).

Those numbers also rank her among the best in the OVC, with her batting average sixth highest, hits tying for fourth most, home runs tying for eighth, RBIs fourth, total bases second and slugging percentage eighth.

Acree — an outfielder from Riverside, CA, who was red shirted in 2015 due to a knee injury – was named to the All-Newcomer Team, along with Liermann, marking the first time that two Austin Peay softball players have earned that honor in the same year.

She finished second on the team in batting average (.333), hits (48), home runs (6) and RBIs (21), while leading the team in doubles (11), triples (2), on-base percentage (.419), walks (20) and slugging percentage (.563).

Her numbers are also among the best in the conference this year, with her batting average 13th best, runs 10th, hits 13th, doubles ninth, total bases fifth, slugging percentage ninth, walks 11th, on-base percentage 10th.
