Flash Flood Warning in effect for Clarksville-Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The Nashville Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning that remains in effect until 8:15pm CDT for Robertson County, Northwestern Davidson County, Northeastern Humphreys County, Eastern Houston County, Cheatham County, Southern Montgomery County, Dickson County and western Sumner County.

At 6:07pm CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen.

Heavy Rain

Several areas are currently experiencing flash flooding, including Portland in Sumner county.

Additional rainfall amounts of one quarter to one half of an inch are possible in the warned area.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Counties Affected

Cheatham County, Davidson County, Dickson County, Houston County, Humphreys County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, and Sumner County.
