Houston County Teen donates to Montgomery County Safehouse

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – While most teens are focused on social media, 16-year-old Bekkah Eaves is focused on social causes.

Eaves started a charity called Bekkah’s Bags earlier this year. The organization focuses on providing basic essentials to homeless infants and children.

She was moved to start the charity after volunteering to serve food at a homeless camp in Nashville Tennessee. While volunteering she noticed infants and toddlers without basic age appropriate items.

At first the Houston County High School student assembled her bags through donations from family. As word spread, churches, businesses, and members of the community also donated to her cause.

She now works with a group of volunteers to assemble bags filled with baby food, formula, diapers, wipes, and blankets. They distribute the bags to shelters in Middle Tennessee like Mission 615 and Urban Ministries.

Bekkah recently donated several bags to SafeHouse, a women’s shelter in Clarksville, on behalf of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“We need more civic minded young adults like Bekkah,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “She is an asset to our community and I know we will continue to hear great things about the work she is doing.”
