Nashville Sounds split doubleheader at Iowa Cubs

 

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – The Nashville Sounds split their doubleheader with the Iowa Cubs losing 3-0 in game one and taking game two 7-4 Thursday night at Principal Park.

The Sounds took the early 1-0 lead in game two when Joey Wendle batted home Matt Olson on a RBI fielder’s choice in the second inning. The Sounds then plated four runs in the third, highlighted by a bases clearing three-run double from Matt McBride to put the Sounds up 4-0. Wendle then singled up the middle to score McBride from second to put the Sounds up 5-0.

Clarksville Police report Intersection at Spencer Lane and Jackson Road Closed

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is wanting to advise the Public that until further notice that the intersection of Spencer Lane and Jackson Road is closed.

It is unknown but it is believed to be a possible sinkhole.

It is unknown at this time how long it will be until it reopens for normal traffic.

Tennessee National Guard Soldiers conduct security assistance exercise at Old Hickory Dam

U.S. Army Corps of EngineersHendersonville, TN – Tennessee National Guard soldiers set up road blocks and patrolled nearby the Old Hickory Dam Powerhouse this morning to protect the facility during a security assistance exercise in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District.

As part of one of the largest statewide disaster preparedness exercises in Tennessee state history, the military presence at the hydroelectric power generating plant on the Cumberland River served to bring together state and federal officials to support an exercise scenario where access to the facility was compromised.

Clarksville Police requests assistance identifying Cunningham Lane Robbery Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On June 12th, 2016 at 9:52pm an unknown Black Male enter the Convenience Store at 201 Cunningham Lane wearing a Grey Army Shirt, Black Pants, and Black Hat.

The Suspect then produced a handgun and robbed the Clerk.

Attached is a Video and the Clarksville Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the Suspect.

Nashville Sounds play eight straight home games starting Saturday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds begin a nine-day, eight-game homestand on Saturday, June 25th when they welcome two American Northern Division opponents to First Tennessee Park.

The first series is a four-game set against the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

Following a team off day on Wednesday, June 29th, the Sounds host the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers from June 30th-July 3rd.

Clarksville Travel Ball hosted Dick’s Sporting Goods Father’s Day Special Tournament

 

Clarksville Travel BallClarksville, TN – Ten year old baseball teams from Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky descended onto Clarksville’s Heritage Park June 18th-19th for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Father’s Day Special Tournament hosted by USSSA’s Clarksville Travel Ball.

USSSA area director Brian Walker stated, “The primary focus of USSSA is the development of programs that allow for teams of all skill levels to compete against one another.  Clarksville Travel Ball’s vision is to provide an opportunity for local players to participate in tournament atmospheres.”
