The rain-shortened tournament—the tourney’s second round was cancelled because of heavy storms–saw both Iten and Anderi, who were tied heading into the final holes, fire 2-under 70s on the final 18. Iten had a trio of bogeys on the front side but one late bogey on the back nine opened the door for a playoff.

However, on the third hole of the playoff, the Niederglatt, Switzerland native sunk a birdie putt while Anderi could only muster a par.

As a result, not only did Iten walk away with the championship but qualified for the Omega European Masters to be held for the 70th time at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in the heart of the Swiss Alps, September 1st-4th.

As a senior at APSU, Iten captured medalist honors in four spring tournaments, including the NCAA Auburn Regional. He was chosen to the Division I PING All-Southeast Region team and played in the 2014 NCAA Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas.
