Montgomery County Emergency Management warns public of rising waters of West Fork Creek

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Emergency Management has received many calls from concerned citizens about the rising West Fork Creek.

For those with homes located near and along West Fork Creek that are concerned about rising water levels, there is no current method to predict any forthcoming water level increases or when it will begin receding.

Recent rain and storms fell on an already saturated ground creating heavy run off and flooding.

The Cumberland River and Red River are equipped with measurement censors from the National Weather Service that assist with level predictions, but these censors are not available on West Fork Creek.

Montgomery County Emergency Management advises anyone concerned with the possibility of water penetrating their homes to move belongings to higher elevation until water levels crest.
