In the month prior to the May exam, Wyatt Johnson, Premier and Antonio Murgas of Domino’s Pizza, encourage students to do well by hosting pep rally events at each of the seven high schools. Students were provided lunch from Domino’s, Premier drew for movie tickets and the three car options were on display for students to check out.

The winning student may choose either a Hyundai Accent, a Toyota Yarris or a Kia Rio. Students who qualify to participate are being mailed a letter after their scores are reported to Central Office in mid-July. The event takes place on Saturday, July 30th at the Wyatt Johnson Mazda Dealership on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Registration for the eligible students is from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

The event began in 2009 with slightly more than 200 students who successfully passed the AP exam. It was created as an incentive for students to take more rigorous courses in high school and to improve the exam passing rate.  Wyatt Johnson also sponsors training for Advanced Placement teachers during the summer.
