Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan appoints Jennifer Byard Interim Director of Clarksville Parks and Recreation

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has appointed Jennifer Byard as the Interim Director of the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.

Ms. Byard’s appointment will become effective August 1st, 2016 upon the resignation of current Director Mark Tummons.

“Mark Tummons has been a Department Head and a valued member of the Parks and Recreation team and will be missed,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. “Mark is relocating to Leander, Texas and has accepted a position there.  I wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavors.”

“Jennifer has extensive experience with Parks & Recreation and has been serving as the Assistant Director,” continued Mayor McMillan. “Having worked for Parks and Rec for many years, she knows the Department’s staff, goals and policies. I have every confidence that she will continue to lead with tremendous commitment to the Department and the City of Clarksville. I appreciate her willingness to accept the responsibilities of Interim Director.”

The mission of the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is to provide a variety of positive recreational experiences that enhance life values for individuals, families, and Clarksville’s diverse culture.
