Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau Announces New Board Leadership for 2016-17

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN  – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau announces that Louisa Cooke has been named chairman of the board of directors for the 2016-17 year beginning July 1st.

Cooke previously served as chairman of the board in 2006-07, 2001-02 and 1997-98, and has served on the board of directors for a total of nine years since 1996.

Cooke and husband, Ed, own Beachaven Vineyards & Winery, where they celebrated the business’ 30-year anniversary in June. She has previously served as president of the Tennessee Farm Winegrowers Alliance and on the Governor’s Viticulture Advisory Board.

Montgomery County Parks Directory and County Commissioner Jerry Allbert was named vice-chairman. Allbert has served on the board since 2007 and as chairman in 2009-10. He has also served as tournament director for the AAU Girls Basketball National Championship games hosted in Clarksville since 1998.

About the Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was established by the State of Tennessee in 1979 to positively influences tourism in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area by promoting tourist attractions, hosting conventions, group tours and engaging in large-scale marketing efforts.

The CVB is governed by nine board of director members who are selected jointly by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Mayors. The CVB is funded by a portion of the local hotel-motel tax.
