Montgomery County Animal Care and Control releases July 2016 Statistics

Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to make the public aware of the animal problem in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has released the statistics on the intake, adoption and euthanasia.

In July, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control took in a total of 495 companion animals (217 cats and 278 dogs).

Of these, 92 were owner surrender (33 cats and 59 dogs).

On the out take side, 305 animals were processed out of the facility: 129 adopted to new homes (38 cats and 91 dogs); 119 transferred to rescue organizations (37 cats and 82 dogs); and 57 happily reclaimed by their owners (1 cat and 56 dogs).

Sadly, 237 were euthanized (172 cats and 65 dogs).
