Nashville, TN – Friday night’s game between the Nashville Sounds and New Orleans Zephyrs has been cancelled due to rain at Zephyrs Park in New Orleans.
The two teams played into the top of the third inning before rain brought the game to a halt. The lone run scored came in the second when Bryan Anderson’s sacrifice fly brought home Renato Nunez to give the Sounds a 1-0 lead.
With the regular season coming to an end Monday, the game will not be resumed and official statistics from tonight’s game will not count.
Game two of the series is scheduled for Saturday night in New Orleans.
Right-hander Angel Castro (2-7, 4.77) starts for the Sounds. New Orleans has not announced a starter. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
