Tennessee Department of Health Corrects Accidental Gunshot Death Data

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed today that a data error resulted in inaccurate accidental gunshot death numbers for 2014 being reported.

After manually reviewing death certificates, TDH reports five people died from accidental gunshot wounds in the state in 2014.

Austin Peay (10-6, 1-0 OVC) set the tone in the first set piecing together runs of six and 10 points en route to a 18-2 lead.

Govs host APSU Cross Country Invitational, Saturday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men and women’s cross country teams will host the annual Austin Peay Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, at the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center.

The event will feature the largest field of competitors in its three-year history, with nine collegiate schools and two additional groups – Jamul Toads and Nashville Harriers – competing. Joining the Governors in the field are Bethel, Evansville, Lindsey Wilson, Lipscomb, Memphis, Murray State, Sewanee, Welch College and West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Fort Campbell, KY – Members of Fort Campbell’s Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness program posed this question to leaders and Soldiers of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners” September 16th during a Great Teams event, here.

Justin Foster, a lead Master Resilience Trainer performance expert with the CSF2 program, led the event for the “Lifeliner” Brigade.

The Great Teams event gathered a cross section of leadership from across the organization to identify what goals and behaviors would make the brigade successful going forward, Foster explained.

Saturday will mark the second time this season that ESPN College GameDay will be on-site for a Tennessee contest. The College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Samantha Ponder, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack was in Bristol, Tennessee, two weeks ago for the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol featuring the Vols and Virginia Tech.

Austin Peay State University student Mary Sencabaugh creates mural honoring 2017 eclipse

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On the afternoon of August 21st, 2017, the skies over Clarksville will go dark for approximately two minutes as a total solar eclipse blacks out the sun.

A once-in-a-lifetime event, the eclipse figures to draw hundreds of amateur and professional stargazers to town for the brief opportunity to witness history.
