CAR YPN Realtors, with their Premium Affiliate Partners, this year raised over $61,500, and over the past three years have raised over $131,000.

“We are so thankful for our Realtors, CAR YPN Committee, and all the 44 local businesses that have supported this great event this and every year,” said Jennifer Warrick, 2016 Chair of the CAR YPN. “As volunteers it’s an amazing thing to raise over $131,000 over three years for our wonderful community,” said Warrick.

“The Handbags for Hope event is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Deidra Ware, Project Director for the SafeHouse. “Because of this event, we can now consistently address major maintenance projects and many other special needs of the Urban Ministries SafeHouse facility,” said Ware. Urban Ministry’s SafeHouse for Women is fully staffed 24 hours a day to provide safety, peace, and comfort to local women and children in need.

“As a Realtor, being a part of CAR and serving with Urban Ministries is how I show my commitment to making our community stronger for everyone,” said Melissa Powers, 2016 Vice-Chair of the CAR YPN, and volunteer for SafeHouse. “Being able to view the impact first hand that the donations make is amazing. Our Realtors and affiliates continue to make a huge difference in our community,” said Powers.

“Thank you to all the generous support of the many Realtors, sponsors, and everyone who donated and attended,” said Ware.
