The Govs (6-4, 1-0 OVC) are coming off a 1-0 shutout victory at Morehead State, last Friday, in a game that featured junior Kirstin Robertson scoring her league-leading eighth goal of the season.

The two-time OVC Player of the Week selection is also currently tied for 14th nationally in goals scored.

Junior goalkeeper Lindsey Todd has stepped up to regain the starting role, improving her record to 4-0-0 on the year with her first shutout of 2016 against the Eagles. APSU served its bye weekend last Sunday, giving the squad additional recovery time before two key away contests.

APSU Soccer - Kirstin RobertsonAfter a challenging nonconference schedule, UT Martin (3-7, 0-2 OVC) has suffered three-straight losses, two coming against OVC competition. During the Illinois swing, the Skyhawks fell 3-1 against SIUE, then lost 1-0 in overtime at Eastern Illinois. Saphyra Coombs-James has scored four goals to lead the team.

Southeast Missouri (7-3-1, 1-1 OVC) also had a difficult early slate, but came away with quality wins, highlighted by an upset over Tennessee, August 19th. The Redhawks opened OVC play with a 1-0 win over Eastern Illinois, but was knocked off by SIUE, 2-0, last Sunday.

Natasha Minor has proven to be one of the top scoring threats in the OVC, with her seven goals ranking just below Robertson. SEMO also has one of the league’s top goalkeepers in Kindra Lierz, whose 0.71 goals against average ranks first in the OVC.

Keep An Eye On

APSU Soccer - Gina FabbroA win on Friday at UT Martin would break another road losing streak against an OVC opponent, as the Govs have not won in Martin since 2006.

Senior Gina Fabbro enters the UT Martin contest having had much success against the Skyhawks.

In the previous two seasons, Fabbro has registered an assist in each meeting.

Austin Peay has held Southeast Missouri scoreless in the last two matchups between the two sides.
