JennaStrong Invitational final regular season tune-up for APSU Cross Country teams

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men and women’s cross country teams travel to Wilmington, Ohio, Saturday, for the JennaStrong Invitational.

The event will serve as the final regular season meet for the Governors, who compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, October 29th, in Nashville Tennessee.

Saturday’s race will be the 24th annual event hosted by Wilmington, and the fourth year to be named the JennaStrong Invitational.

The men’s race is set to begin at 4:30pm, with the women will follow at 5:15pm.

APSU served an off week last Saturday, with the added rest needed after participating three times in the previous three weeks.

The Govs last competed October 1st at the JSU Invitational, with freshman Hezron Kiptoo (12th) and sophomore Wesley Gray (15th) posting top 15 results.

In addition, freshman Tyler Smith also had a solid performance in 23rd, while Nash Young and Kyle Harmon placed 44th and 46th, respectively.

On the women’s team, junior Becca Wheeler led Austin Peay in 49th, followed by Sarah-Emily Woodward in 51st.
