Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team will put the finishing touches on the best fall season the program has ever enjoyed when the Governors travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina for the Winthrop Intercollegiate, October 22nd-23rd at Rock Hill Country Club.
The first day will feature fixed tee times starting at 10:30am; the Governors are set to go off in a group with Presbyterian and USC Upstate at 11:15. Sunday’s final round will feature a 9:30am. shotgun start.
Austin Peay’s lineup of Taylor Goodley, Ashton Goodley, AnnaMichelle Moore, Morgan Kauffman and Meghann Stamps should look familiar—it’s the same lineup the Govs rolled out three weeks ago at Dalhousie at the MVC Preview. Amber Bosworth will serve as the Govs individual this week.
“With this being the last event of the fall we are excited to travel to and play a new course,” said head coach Sara Robson. “We have been working hard on some of the shots we didn’t execute last week and we are excited to see that hard work pay off and play well this week.”
Taylor Goodley hopes to close out what has already been a tremendous fall on a high note. Goodley was co-Golfer of the Week two weeks ago after taking runner-up honors at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
Moore, who earned her first top-10 of the fall in the Governors home tournament two weeks ago, also looks to capitalize on a tremendous fall season. Stamps, in her first season as Gov, earned her first career top-10 at Greystone and was just two shots out of a top-five finish.
“We have enjoyed the fall semester and have seen some great golf as well as made great strides as a team,” Robson said. “We need to be patient, stay focused, and play with confidence in order to better execute the shot at hand.”
