Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will make a third appearance in front of a national television audience, with the American Sports Network picking up Austin Peay’s January 14th contest at Eastern Illinois, with tip-off scheduled for 11:00am.
This will be Austin Peay’s third consecutive season with a game on the American Sports Network, and second time in as many years that the Govs and Panthers will square off on the ASN from Charleston; Austin Peay won last season’s meeting 79-70 behind double-doubles from Kenny Jones (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Chris Horton (19 points, 13 boards).Mid-to-late January will have the Governors before a national audience on three occasions; in addition to the January 14th contest on ASN, Austin Peay will be on the CBS Sports Network January 12th at SIU Edwardsville and January 26th in the Dunn Center against UT Martin in a rematch of last season’s Ohio Valley Conference Championship contest.
The American Sports Network is an initiative of the Sinclair Networks Group, LLC, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., which owns and operates programs and provides sales serves to 164 television stations in 79 markets, reaching approximately 43 percent of U.S. television households. It includes FOX, ABC, CBS, MyTV, CW, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates.
The exact stations each of the games will air will be announced at a later date.
The announcement of these broadcasts brings the current number of Conference games on national television this year to 23.
