Austin Peay State University Baseball alumnus Tyler Rogers named to AFL Fall Star Game

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityScottsdale, AZ – Austin Peay State University baseball alumnus Tyler Rogers has been named to the Arizona Fall League Fall Star Game, Major League Baseball announced earlier this week.

Rogers, who closed for the Governors 2012 and 2013 OVC Championship teams, was selected to attend the Arizona Fall League after a stellar season in the San Francisco Giants minor league ranks.

Rogers began the year at Double-AA Richmond and posted a 1-1 record, 10 saves and a 0.77 ERA in 35 outings totaling 35 innings. The effort earned him a promotion to Triple-A Sacramento where he ended the campaign with a 1-1 record, a save and 6.10 ERA.

While with the Scottsdale Scorpions, Rogers has not allowed an earned run in six appearances totaling 5.2 innings. He has struck out six batters and not allowed a walk while compiling a 0-1 record with a save.

The AFL Fall Stars Game will be played Saturday, November 5th at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona. The contest will be aired live on the MLB Network and www.MLB.com
