Adventure Science Center’s New Winter Wonder Weekends to bring Families together for Holiday Science and Fun

Adventure Science Center to launch new holiday programming beginning November 26th

Adventure Science CenterNashville, TN – Adventure Science Center will kick off the holiday season with a brand new series, Winter Wonder Weekends, premiering November 26th and continuing every Saturday and Sunday through the holidays.

This exciting new programming will offer families a chance to play, create, and learn together while exploring amazing holiday-themed science. Innovative activities abound in a lineup that includes everything from toy dissection to igloo building to an investigation of holiday movie magic.

Winter Wonder Weekends Activities, 10:00am to 3:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note: Not all activities may be available at each event day.

Winter Wonder Weekends

Toy Laboratory

Try out this year’s best STEM toys and activities including Geomags, Snap Circuits, and Ruminate and create your own new toys using engineering and technology.

That’s No Snow!

Master the magic of winter. Learn the secret of making snow and how to tell the difference between the real flakes and the fake ones

Blubber Buddies

Learn how animals keep warm in arctic climates that reach temperatures of 40 below.

Igloo Building Workshop

Hone your arctic engineering skills while you learn to build ingenious igloos from our surprising materials.

Holiday Movie Magic

Learn how science plays a surprising part in two classic holiday movies – Home Alone and A Christmas Story.

Ice Fishing

Explore the weird power of salt on ice and see why it makes fishing for ice a truly strange experience.

Polaris, The Space Submarine and The Mystery of the Polar Night

A new, holiday production showing in Sudekum Planetarium guaranteed to delight audiences age 4 to 100. Follow the entertaining exploits of pals James, a penguin with a yen for science, and Vladamir, a polar bear with a talent for engineering as they try to solve the mystery of earth’s long arctic nights and deal with an unexpected stowaway on their DIY spaceship.

Excluding planetarium show tickets which require additional purchase, all Winter Wonder Weekend activities are free with admission.

Winter Wonders Weekends are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays November 26th through December 31st, and every day December 19th – 23rd, and December 26th – 31st. Winter Wonders Weekends will not be available on December 24th & 25th, when Adventure Science Center will be closed for the holidays.
