In the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky, Banks reached the 1,000 point plateau for her career, becoming the 19th APSU player to reach the milestone. She accomplished the feat on her final shot attempt of the afternoon, scoring 15 points overall.

In Austin Peay’s 77-74 win over East Tennessee, Wednesday, the Louisville native posted 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field. It was the ninth time she has scored 20 or more points in her career.

As a result, Banks now ranks third in the league in scoring at 15.4 points per game, and also sits second in the OVC and 36th nationally with a 57.7 field goal percentage.

The award is the first for Banks in her career – she’s a three-time winner for OVC Freshman of the Week, but never Player of the Week. Meanwhile, it’s the first weekly honor for an Austin Peay player since Tiasha Gray, February 16th.

For the remaining awards this week, UT Martin grabbed the additional two, with Ashton Feldhaus earning Newcomer of the Week and Breanna Boggs claiming Freshman of the Week honors.
