Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Lighted Christmas Parade Winners

 

ChristmasClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government are excited to announce the winners of this year’s night-time, lighted Christmas parade that was held on Saturday, December 3rd in Downtown Clarksville.

Over 100 local businesses, schools, and organizations showcased their Christmas spirit by walking, preparing a float, or driving a fun vehicle all decked out in holiday cheer to this year’s theme “Christmas Trees & Memories”.

Clarksville Police respond to Pedestrian Stuck on Riverside Drive near Cookout Restaurant

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department reports that currently, traffic is slow-moving on Riverside Drive near the Cookout Restaurant (804 North Second Street) due to a crash that occurred just before 5:10pm on December 8th, 2016. A vehicle struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian’s injuries are serious, and he will be transported by LifeFlight to Nashville. An update will be released when we have more details.

Nashville Rocker Rich Lynch Pens Moody Anthem for Standing Rock Movement

“You could say I’m doing the Neil Young thing with this one,” said Lynch of the timely new track recorded to help raise awareness about the happenings on the ground right now in North Dakota. “But, the reality is the subject matter for the song hit close to home and the lyrics arrived nearly fully formed as I tried to sleep one night – so I was compelled to record it as soon as possible.”

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Old Hopkinsville Highway Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Old Hopkinsville Highway between Eva Drive and Hermitage Road to repair a water main leak.

Residents in the surrounding area may also experience low water pressure during the work.

City of Clarksville announces Ringgold Road closure to remove Railroad Bridge

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has decided to remove the railroad bridge on Ringgold Road due to the condition of the structure.

During the duration of its removal, Ringgold Road will be closed from Ringgold Court to Brentwood Circle beginning on Friday, December 16th at 1:00pm until the project is complete.

Clarksville Transit System receives New Paratransit Vehicles

 

Clarksville Transit System - CTSClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Transit System (CTS) has received nine new paratransit vehicles. Funding was received for all nine vehicles through the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Grant Program.  The total funding received was $367,311.

These vehicles will average 110 trips per day and began to service the community on December 7th.
