Clarksville-Montgomery County under Hazardous Weather alert tonight

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch that is in effect until 9:00pm CT for Clarksville-Montgomery County and the Northwest half of Middle Tennessee.

There is also a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the area from midnight tonight through 6:00am Sunday.

Some strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible through this evening. Main concerns will be severe thunderstorms that can develop damaging winds. Isolated hail and the formation of a tornado can not totally be ruled out.

Late tonight, a change over to a wintry mix of light freezing rain and light sleet that will eventually turn over to a light snowfall is expected across the Northwestern portions of the Middle Tennessee region.

Although no sleet or snowfall accumulations are expected, ice accumulations are expected to be generally less than one tenth of an inch.

Stewart County, Montgomery County, Robertson County, Sumner County, Macon County, Houston County, Humphreys County, Dickson County, Cheatham County, Davidson County, Wilson County, Trousdale County, Smith County, Perry County, Hickman County, Lewis County, Williamson County, Maury County, Rutherford County, and Wayne County.
