U.S. President Donald Trump Orders Tomahawk Missile Attack in Retaliation for Syrian Chemical Strikes

United States Department of Defense - DoDWashington, D.C. – The United States fired Tomahawk missiles into Syria today in retaliation for the regime of Bashar Assad using nerve agents to attack his own people. 

President Donald J. Trump ordered the attack on Al-Shayrat Air Base, the base from which the chemical attack on Syria’s Idlib province was launched. The missiles were launched from U.S. Navy ships in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. 

The attack is in retaliation for the Syrian dictator for using banned chemical agents in the April 4th, 2017 attack.

Oil Prices Surge as United States Launches Missile Attack on Syria

 

GasBuddyBoston, MA – Oil prices were trading sharply higher after the United States launched a missile attack on Syria Thursday night. Oil rose in usually quiet after-hours trade by a dollar per barrel to $52.70 after news spread of roughly 50 Tomahawk missiles being launched from two U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea.

4th annual “The Big Sing” to be held by APSU Choral Activities Tuesday, April 11th

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University choral activities celebrates the grand finale of the choral season with the biggest collection of vocal talent to date in the fourth annual “The Big Sing.”

On April 11th at 5:30pm, upwards of 170 singers from APSU, Mt. Juliet High School and Station Camp High School will join together at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the University campus in a free performance of a wide range of vocal compositions.

APSU Chamber Singers and University Choir, Mt. Juliet High School and Station Camp High School will come together Tuesday, April 11th for the fourth annual "The Big Sing" at Austin Peay.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from April 5th, 2017

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On April 5th, 2017, ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) Agents with the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted compliance checks on 13 business targeting sales of alcohol to underage persons.

All 13 business were found to be in compliance and no alcohol was sold to underage persons.  

It is a rarity that all business are found in compliance and the Clarksville Police Department would like to thank all the businesses for properly training their staff and complying with the law.

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Fans attending any of Austin Peay State University’s baseball games this weekend against Belmont will have plenty of entertainment besides the action on the field. The Austin Peay athletics department has several pregame, in-game and postgame promotions in store for each game of the three-game series.

The entertainment begins before the 6:00pm, Friday series opener with free Govs monocles to the first 100 fans through the game.
