APSU SoftballCape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay State University’s softball team was held to just two total hits by the Southeast Missouri pitching, Saturday at the Southeast Softball Complex, with the Govs coming away with 3-0 and 4-0 Ohio Valley Conference shutout losses.

Nashville Sounds hand Round Rock Express 8-3 loss

 

Franklin Barreto & Jaff Decker Lead Another Offensive Attack in Round Rock.

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Franklin Barreto and Jaff Decker had six of the Nashville Sounds’ 14 hits in an 8-3 win over the Round Rock Express Saturday night at Dell Diamond.

One night after the duo combined to go 7-for-9 at the plate, they went 6-for-9 with four runs scored and three driven in. The tandem at the top of the lineup fired up a first inning rally in which the Sounds (2-1) went on to score four runs to set the tone.

Barreto was hit by a Dillon Gee pitch, and Decker doubled to the opposite field to put runners in scoring position for Renato Nuñez.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library now offers Mobile Printing and Mobile HotSpots

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library is excited to announce that patrons can now send print jobs from personal desktop computers and handheld devices for printing at the library.

The library is also introducing mobile hotspots for patrons to check out using their library card.

Patrons can now send print jobs to the library from their laptop or desktop computer, from a tablet or smart phone, or through email.

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball first baseman Dre Gleason and right fielder Chase Hamilton hit back-to-back home runs to lift the Governors to a 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Belmont, Saturday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park.

After two scoreless frames to start the contest, Belmont (14-15, 9-5 OVC) broke through in the third when catcher Clay Payne led off the inning with a home run to left.

APSU Women's Tennis Charleston, IL – The Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team picked up a 4-3 road win over Eastern Illinois Saturday morning.

The Govs won the doubles point after Ana Albertson and Helena Kuppig won their No. 1 match 6-1, and Lidia Yanes Garcia and Isabela Jovanovic won their No. 3 match 6-3.

National Telecommunicators Week

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – April 9th-15th, 2017 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This second week in April is set aside to recognize the thousands of Telecommunicators, commonly referred to as dispatchers, for contributions to their communities.

The dispatchers of the Clarksville-Montgomery 9-1-1 center are on the job 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are the unsung heroes who are the first point of contact for people who need emergency services.
