Charleston, IL – The Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team picked up a 4-3 road win over Eastern Illinois Saturday morning.
The Govs won the doubles point after Ana Albertson and Helena Kuppig won their No. 1 match 6-1, and Lidia Yanes Garcia and Isabela Jovanovic won their No. 3 match 6-3.
Lidia Yanes Garcia earned her ninth straight win with a 6-0, 6-2 victory in her No. 1 singles match, while Albertson earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
The match came down to Kuppig who delivered a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 3.
The Govs will travel to rival Murray State on Tuesday, April 11 for their next match.
