Clarksville Academy announces John Crosby as New Assistant Football Coach

Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school, is proud to announce the addition of John Crosby to our football program. Crosby, the defensive coordinator for Nashville Christian, brings with him over ten years of coaching experience.

Crosby, a 2001 graduate of Battle Ground Academy, is no stranger to private school athletics.

Immediately upon his 2006 graduation from the University of Tennessee, he was hired by Nashville Christian.

In the past ten years, he has worked as a defensive coordinator, won a 2015 state championship title, coached a top 10 scoring defense in the state for four consecutive seasons, voted District 10 Assistant Coach of the Year twice (2013, 2014), and coached the Mr. Football finalist in 2015.

In addition to those accomplishments, Crosby also helped to guide his team to a 59-9 record over a five year period.

Head Coach JD Sellers commented, “We are proud to add Coach Crosby to our staff. His leadership and commitment at Nashville Christian has made him a standout coach throughout the state of Tennessee.  I am confident that his enthusiasm and passion for football will help guide our team to a successful season. Coach Crosby will be a great addition, not just to our coaching staff, but in the classroom as well.”

Crosby has ten years of teaching experience and has spent the past four as Head of the Physical Education Department at NCS. He will join the CA Physical Education Department in the fall.

Also joining Crosby on the CA football staff is, Tyler Miles. Miles played football at Austin Peay State University from 2012-2016. He served as team captain, starter on the offensive line, was a 2015-2016 OVC Academic Medal of Honor recipient, the 2015 Team Offensive MVP, and was on the 2015-2016 OVC Honor Roll. Coach Miles joins the coaching staff as Offensive Line Coach.
