Clarksville Parks and Recreation Plants Trees to Celebrate Arbor Day

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville City Forester Kathrine Stevenson, along with Principal Dr. Nix and fifth grade students celebrated “Arbor Day” by planting two Crape Myrtles trees at Burt Elementary School.

The trees planted were donated by the Clarksville Department of Electricity.

Brian Rucker, Urban Forest Resource Management Forester from TN Division of Forestry presented the following awards:

  • Clarksville Department of Electricity for Tree Line USA
  • Austin Peay State University, Tree Campus USA
  • City of Clarksville, Tree City USA for the 28th year.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan read the Arbor Day proclamation and the Clarksville Tree Board presented certificates to the winner of the Big Tree Contest.
