State Farm reminds everyone that Lightning Safety Awareness Week is June 18th-24th

 

State FarmMurfreesboro, TN – The number of homeowners insurance claims from lightning strikes and electrical surges in the United States rose in 2016, compared with 2015; however, the average cost that insurers paid on those claims fell, according to a new analysis by the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.).

“Remembering WWI” Book Club at Fort Campbell’s R.F. Sink Library

 

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) invites you to join R.F. Sink Library as they commemorate U.S. entry into World War I at their monthly Brunch and a Book meetings.

They will be holding the WWI Book Club meetings every month from now through December 2018. Here are the first three titles we’ll be discussing. The titles are available in the Library, as eBooks and eAudio.

The book meetings will be held at 12:00pm CT.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports North Riverside Drive Lane Closed for Natural Gas Main Repair

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed approximately 100 feet of the outer eastbound lane of North Riverside Drive at 631 North Riverside Drive to repair a natural gas main.

The inside lane of Riverside Drive will be open to motorists; however, traffic may become congested and motorists may wish to choose an alternate route.

Dunbar Cave State Park to host Student Volunteers on Tennessee Promise Saturday

 

Dunbar Cave State ParkClarksville, TN – Tennessee State Parks are offering volunteer events across the state to help Tennessee Promise scholars log community service hours on Saturday, June 24th, 2017.

Get some of your Tennessee Promise hours knocked out by volunteering at Dunbar Cave State Park. They could use your help to repaint the fence around the parking lot. They will provide the paint and the brushes, you provide the labor! It is recommended that you wear old clothes and shoes as painting can be messy.

Clarksville Police Department provides Summer Pet Safety Tips

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Summer arrived at our door early in Clarksville and we’ve seen temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. CPD has already had three heat related, preventable dog deaths in our community and haven’t hit the hottest part of the summer yet.

In an effort to try and prevent further incidents of heat related deaths, the Clarksville Police Department, working in conjunction with Montgomery County Animal Care and Control, want to give pet owners some reminders/education about safeguarding your pets in hot weather.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Porters Bluff Road and Trahern Lane Water Outage

19th Century Music will be Performed by Marlin Rood Band at Clarksville’s Historic Fort Defiance.

Friends of Fort DefianceClarksville, TN – The Friends of Fort Defiance will host a free outdoor musical performance by the Marlin Rood Band at Fort Defiance in Clarksville on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Popular 19th century music will be performed on authentic period instruments.
