APSU Football loses to Cincinnati Bearcats 26-14

APSU FootballCincinnati, OH – Quarterback JaVaughn Craig finished with 155 yards and threw for a touchdown as Austin Peay State University’s football team opened the 2017 with an impressive statement in a 26-14 loss to Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium.

After the teams played to a scoreless stalemate in the first quarter, Cincinnati took advantage of a short field to score the game’s first touchdown.

TDOT halts all Lane Closures on Tennessee Highways for Labor Day Weekend

 

Travelers Won’t Be Delayed by Road Construction during Labor Day Holiday

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day holiday travel period. 

Construction crews will stop all lane closure activity beginning at noon on Friday, September 1st, 2017 through 5:00am on Tuesday, September 5th.  This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists traveling during the busy Labor Day holiday.

APSU Soccer’s game Friday against Georgia State Canceled

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – With inclement weather in the area, Austin Peay State University soccer team has canceled Friday’s match with Georgia State.

The match will not be made up, but head coach Kelley Guth is working diligently to procure another match, Saturday, which would move Austin Peay’s scheduled Sunday match at Alabama A&M to Monday.

Nashville Sounds home game against Omaha Storm Chasers cancelled Due to Rain

 

Nashville Sounds Concludes Season in New Orleans

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Thursday’s game between the Nashville Sounds and Omaha Storm Chasers has been cancelled due to rain at First Tennessee Park.

The game will not be made up as the two teams are not scheduled to meet again during the 2017 season.

Fans with a ticket to the game may exchange it at the First Tennessee Park box office for any 2018 regular season ticket of equal or lesser value, subject to availability, after 2018 single game tickets go on sale to the public in March.

“We have a lot of food truck, and other small business owners who shop with us, and they are very important to our club,” Sam’s Club’s Diane Uythoven said. “Sam Walton started Sam’s Club as a way to cater to small businesses. We believe that we’re in business because they’re in business, and we want to show our support for this community and all its hard-working small business owners.”

APSU will face Georgia State (1-2) and host UAB (0-3), Friday, before a Saturday match against Western Illinois (2-1).

Clarksville Police Arrest Two in Conjunction with Shots Fired in Ryder Avenue Area

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 around 4:20pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Ryder Avenue. Upon arrival, officers received information there had been a gold Monte Carlo in the area and shots were being fired from the vehicle.

There were four victims located in the area where in the shots were fired. The four victims were not hit by any of the shots fired.

Clarksville-Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting September 1st, 2017

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that in Montgomery County resurfacing on SR 112 From SR 374 to University Avenue will take place Friday September 1st, from 9:00am until 12:00pm, Tuesday September 5th and Wednesday September 6th, from 6:00pm until 6:00am.

There will be a temporary lane closure on SR 112 to perform catch basin and value adjustments.
