Tennessee National Guard detachment leaves for year-long deployment to Kuwait

 

Tennessee National GuardNashville, TN – Twenty-two Tennessee Army National Guard members of Detachment 5, Company B, 248th Aviation Support Battalion, left Joint Base Berry Field, Nashville, Tennessee September 30th, 2017 to complete two months of pre-deployment training at Fort Hood, Texas.  

Det. 5, Co. B, 248 ASB, is a small maintenance detachment based out of Nashville that is set to embark on a year-long deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Operation Spartan Shield is a multiple-force contingency operation based in Kuwait that’s set in place to prevent and react to possible threats within the region.

City of Clarksville gets grant to begin Police Body-Camera Program

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has been awarded a federal grant in the amount of $337,500 by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice for a Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program.

Clarksville was the only agency in Tennessee to receive an award in this round and has a long history with Bureau of Justice grants totaling over $1.9 million since 2004.

Clarksville Police has received more reports of Compromised ATM/Debit Cards

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department says the amount of compromised credit card reports has increased since the original release. There has been approximately 60 compromised ATM/Debit card reports submitted, totaling in excess of $20,000.

CPD has received photos of a suspect and a possible vehicle which he may be in. The photos were taken during a transaction which occurred on September 28th, 2017.

The 24-hour, Utility Billing Line, 931.645.7400, a pay-by-phone, and account management feature will be available for customer bill payment and account management.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-2) travel this week to face the Miami Dolphins (1-2). Kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium (capacity 64,767) is scheduled for 1:00pm EDT/noon CDT on Sunday, October 8th, 2017.

This is the third consecutive season in which the Titans and Dolphins have played and the second straight year the Dolphins have hosted the meeting. In 2015, the Dolphins took a 38-10 decision at Nissan Stadium, and the Titans returned the favor with a 30-17 win in South Florida in 2016. Miami leads the all-time series 19-17.

Seven Clarksville Fire Rescue Leaders promoted

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Fire Chief Mike Roberts presided over a “pinning ceremony” Wednesday for seven Clarksville Fire Rescue leaders who recently were promoted.

The ceremony was attended by spouses, children and family members who cheered the firefighters into their new positions.
