APSU Volleyball falls at Western Kentucky in straight sets

APSU Women's VolleyballBowling Green, KY – Reigning Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week Kristen Stucker chipped in 28 assists but it was not enough as the Austin Peay State University volleyball team dropped a straight-set decision to Western Kentucky on Tuesday Evening.

The opening frame was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams attacking efficiently.

After Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success.

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityKansas City, MO – The Austin Peay State University women’s soccer program was awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for 2016-17.

Austin Peay was one of six Ohio Valley Conference schools to be presented with the honor which recognizes student athletes for their work ethic not only on the field, but in the classroom.

Tennessee Public School Students Set New Record with ACT Average Score of 20.1

 

Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner Candice McQueen today announced that Tennessee public school students have crossed a new threshold, earning an average composite score of 20.1 on the ACT.

Tennessee public high school students improved from the 2016 average of 19.9, with more than 3,500 additional students taking the exam this year.

APSU Governors Athletics Offices relocate within Dunn Center

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s athletics department has relocated its offices within the Winfield Dunn Center. Effective immediately fans can find the department’s administrative offices on the second floor of the Dunn Center.

In addition, the men and women’s basketball offices as well as the softball offices can now be found on the first floor of the Dunn Center.

At this time visitor parking for the administrative offices is still located on the main level of the Dunn Center in parking Lot No. 50. Elevator access to the second floor can be found by entering the Dunn Center through Gate 3 and turning left.

The fact that seven of the 11 Montgomery County banks have 10% or more of deposit market share underscores the extraordinary competitiveness within the market.

The updated market share reports – recently posted on the FDIC website – are based on federally insured deposits of banks and thrifts through June 30th, 2017.

Clarksville Police reports Man Discharges a Firearm While Clearing It, Killing Another Man

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Monday, October 9th, 2017 around 5:43pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a shooting in progress at 160 Stateline Road.

When officers arrived they found a 19 year old man being administered first aid who had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso area. He was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.
