Alexandra Harper Crowned Miss Tennessee USA 2018

 

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Alexandra Harper, Miss Williamson County, was crowned Miss Tennessee USA Saturday at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Harper, a 2015 graduate of the University of Tennessee, accepted her new crown from the reigning Miss Tennessee USA, Allee-Sutton Hethcoat, also from Williamson County, and will compete in the 2018 Miss USA Pageant.

Clarksville Police find Guns and Ammo in Residence of Commerce Street Barricaded Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – When Clarksville Police Officers ended the standoff on Commerce Street and entered the residence they found a .380 caliber Semi-automatic pistol, a .12 gauge shotgun, and the AK (Kalashnikov) variant rifle.

There were 267 rounds of 7.62x39mm rifle ammunition, 117 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 14 rounds of .12 gauge shotgun ammunition.

Clarksville Police request help identifying Aggravated Assault Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police investigated a reported Aggravated Assault at the 408 Tiny Town Road Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on October 12th, 2017 but the suspect has not yet been identified.

The suspect, described as a white male in a black hoodie and tan pants, allegedly displayed a pistol after he was caught shoplifting some frozen food items.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf finishes in top five at F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

APSU Men's GolfDickson, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf enjoyed a top-five team finish at their home event, the 2017 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, at Greystone Golf Club.

The Govs shot 294 over the final 18 holes, making their 54-hole total an 882 (293-295-294).

Clarksville Police release additional information on Commerce Street Barricaded Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – When the Clarksville Police Department TACT Team members enter the residence on Commerce Street and took Darren Vance, a 50-year-old black male visitor from Louisville, Kentucky into custody shortly before 4:00am Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 they discovered the suspect had a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his abdomen.

Officers immediately worked with local emergency medical services to rush the wounded man to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by Life-Flight helicopter.

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with the 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade, 101st Abn. Div., recently conducted a command post exercise.

Soldiers of the brigade conducted the CPX, September 25th-October 5th, to validate and enhance the brigade’s tactical operation center and enhance the brigade staff’s readiness in a decisive action training environment, according to Col. Stanley J. Sliwinski, commander of the 101st Abn. Div. Sust. Bde.

Austin Peay State University Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert returns on October 27th

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Don’t be afraid to be changed on Friday, October 27th, 2017, when Austin Peay State University’s Department of Music hosts the 33rd annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert. It will be a metamorphosis for the better, we assure you!

This year’s concert will feature two performances at 6:00pm and 8:00pm and takes place at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall in the Music/Mass Communication Building. Admission is two cans of food (donated to Loaves & Fishes) or $5.00.

Wags & Wings Family Fun Fest a Huge Success

 

Clarksville Regional AirportClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Regional Airport (CRA) in partnership with the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County began a new tradition this weekend with the 1st Annual Wags & Wings Family Fun Fest on Saturday, October 14th, 2017.

Humane Society’s Courtney Berlyak talked about the success of the event and the fortuitous timing of CRA’s John Patterson’s proposal, coming just as Humane Society leaders had decided to end its annual Wags to Witches Fur Ball Bash.

Clarksville Police arrest Barricade Suspect, Standoff Ended

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The armed suspect who barricaded himself in a residence on Commerce Street is now in Clarksville Police custody. The seventeen-hour standoff ended with a tactical team entry into the house shortly after 4:00am Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.

The suspect was arrested on a charge of reckless endangerment. CPD Officers obtained an arrest warrant Monday afternoon, a few hours into the incident.
