Tennessee Lady Vols beat Wichita State Shockers, 68-56

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Freshman Rennia Davis recorded the first double-double of her college career to lead No. 12/18 Tennessee to a 68-56 victory over Wichita State on Monday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
Davis, a member of the nation’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class, finished with 15 points and a team-high 10 rebounds as the Lady Vols (3-0, 0-0 SEC) pulled away in the second half. UT held the Shockers (0-4, 0-0 American Athletic Conference) to 36 percent shooting for the game. 
 
After trailing by four at the end of the first quarter, Tennessee used a 12-0 run over the next six minutes to build an eight-point lead.

Tennessee Department of Transportation Halts Lane Closures on Tennessee Highways During Thanksgiving Holiday

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – Thanksgiving travelers will not be delayed by construction on Tennessee roads during this busy travel holiday. TDOT will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state.

All construction related lane closures will be stopped beginning at noon on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017 through 6:00am Monday, November 27th, 2017.

APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team freshman forward Terry Taylor has been named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

Taylor averaged 15.3 ppg in three appearances last week, piecing together back-to-back double-doubles in his first two regular-season home appearances.

Clarksville Police investigate man being shot and killed on Mitchell Street

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Monday, November 20th, 2017, around 4:08pm, Clarksville Police and EMS responded to a 911 call in reference to a man who was at 201 Mitchell Street and had been shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a male in his 20s, on the front porch of 201 Mitchell Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. The man was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in extremely critical condition.

Clarksville Police are investigating a homicide at 201 Mitchell Street where a man was shot and later died from his injury.

Clarksville’s Valleybrook Park reopens with new Playgrounds

 

Federal grants provide updated restrooms, pavilions

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Valleybrook Park, a neighborhood green space on Crossland Avenue near downtown, reopened Monday after a facelift funded with federal grants secured by the City of Clarksville.

Improvements include two new playgrounds, new restrooms, a new pavilion, conversion of the old restrooms to an additional pavilion, and repaving of the parking lot.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Letourneau, members of the Clarksville City Council and students from Tabernacle Christian School cut a ribbon Monday formally reopening Valleybrook Park.

Clarksville Police arrest Devone Clement who is on Probation for break in on Hornberger Lane

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – A man who is no stranger to Clarksville Police and already on probation has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail again. Devone Maurice Clement was developed as a suspect by Detective Bradley after a November 9th, 2017 break in of a business on Hornberger Lane.

There were multiple vehicles broken into and a 2011 Honda Accord stolen.

Clarksville Police request assistance identifying Hundred Oaks Lane Homicide Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department investigation into the November 7th, 2017 Homicide of Christopher Lane, 312 Hundred Oaks Lane, is ongoing.

Police have a photo of a suspect involved in the Homicide and are asking the public for assistance identifying the man.

The lead investigator is Detective Bing.
