Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 4 of the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans traveled to the Houston Texans to face the defending AFC South champions and fell to the Texans by a score of 57-14.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw an interception to Safety Andre Hal on the Titans opening drive and the Texans capitalized by scoring on a two-yard rush by rookie Quartherback Deshaun Watson.

On the following Houston possession, the Texans raised the lead to 14-0 on an eight-yard pass from Watson to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The Texans added a third touchdown on the first play of the second quarter, a 16-yard score from Watson to wide Receiver Will Fuller V to increase the lead to 21-0.

Mariota put the Titans on the board in the second stanza with a 34-yard rushing touchdown, cutting Houston’s lead to 21-7.

DT Jurrell Casey manufactured a third-down sack on Watson but Houston K Ka’imi Fairburn was able to convert a 50-yard field goal to put Houston up 24-7. The Titans cut the lead to 10 points on a Mariota two-yard touchdown run. After rookie CB Adoree’ Jackson was called for defensive pass interference, Houston took over at the Tennessee one-yard line as Watson ran in his second rushing touchdown of the day. Fairburn missed the extra point as Houston extended its lead to 30-14.

After Mariota threw his second pick to Hal, S Kevin Byard returned the favor by intercepting Watson in the red zone to halt Houston’s drive and end the first half. Houston opened the second half with an eight-minute, 14-play scoring drive, which culminated in Fuller’s second score as Houston went up 37-14. In the third quarter, QB Matt Cassel took over as Mariota exited the game with a hamstring injury.

Texans running back Lamar Miller added an eight-yard receiving touchdown in the fourth as Houston extended the lead to 44-14. Cassel turned the ball over on three straight possessions, first on an interception to Texans safety Marcus Gilchrist, then on a pick six to linebacker Dylan Cole and finally he fumbled the ball while being sacked. Houston converted another field goal in the fourth and finished the game with a 57-14 victory.
