The Bowling Green Kentucky native averaged 10.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg against Oklahoma State and Alabama A&M last week, chipping in 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per contest on 44.4 percent shooting.

With his 15-point, 11-rebound performance against Oklahoma State, Taylor became the first Gov since Chris Horton (14 points, 10 boards in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament) with a double-double against a high-major opponent.

He equaled his career high with 13 rebounds against Alabama A&M, Saturday.

This is Taylor’s second Freshman of the Week honor; he also won for the week of November 20th. With his Freshman of the Week honors bookending the wins by freshman Dayton Gumm (Freshman) and senior Averyl Ugba (Newcomer), it marks the first time Feb. 4-18, 2013 (Horton twice, Anthony Campbell) that Austin Peay has won at least one weekly honor from the conference in three consecutive weeks.

The Govs continue a stout non-conference schedule with a Wednesday trip to face Illinois. Tip-off in Champaign is slated for 7:00pm (CT).
