Nashville Predators Defeat Dallas Stars 5-2

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators continue their winning ways by defeating the Dallas Stars 5-2 on the road. Nashville put an end to the Stars five game winning streak as back up goalie Juuse Saros made 43 saves on the night for the Predators.

Coming off of a 5-3 win over Boston last night, the Predators flew to Dallas for a “back-to-back” series against the red hot Stars at the American Airlines Center.

Nashville is getting scoring from a number of players in their line-up, and tonight was no different.  Kyle Turris, Kevin Fiala, Calle Jarnkrok, Cody McLeod and Pontus Aberg lit the lamp tonight for Nashville.

Fiala got the scoring underway for the Predators in the first period on the power play, beating Dallas goaltender, Ben Bishop.  Bishop would be chased in the second period after allowing three goals on fifteen shots.

The story of the night though was the play of Saros.  The Nashville net-minder had a record setting performance in goal with his 43 saves.  His previous high was 39 blocked shots.  Saros backs up Pekka Rinne in goal, who had the night off after defeating the Bruins on Monday.

Ryan Johansen and Ryan Ellis participated in the morning skate, but did not play.  Ellis has yet to play this year, recovering from injuries suffered during the post-season last year.  Johansen missed his second game in a row after suffering a lower body injury on Saturday night.

The Predators sit atop the Western Conference standings with 39 points.

The Predators play again on Friday, when the Las Vegas Knights, featuring former Predator James Neal, make their first appearance in Nashville.  Puck drops at 7:00pm at the award winning Bridgestone Arena.
