Montgomery County Animal Care and Control releases November 2017 Statistics

Montgomery County Animal Care and ControlMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to make the public aware of the animal problem in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control has released the statistics on the intake, adoption and euthanasia for the month of November, 2017.

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control took in a total of 397 animals (1 bird, 1 pig, 2 ferrets, 2 goats, 171 cats, and 220 dogs).

On the out take side, 326 animals were processed out of the facility: 114 animals were adopted (1 ferret, 1 pig, 48 cats and 64 dogs); 94 animals were transferred to rescue organizations (37 cats and 57 dogs); 57 animals went into foster homes (29 cats, and 28 dogs); and 2 cats and 59 dogs were reclaimed by their owner.

Sadly, 4 cats and 11 dogs were return adoptions and 156 animals were euthanized (122 cats and 34 dogs).

Since January 1st, we have taken in 4,845 animals.

We would like to thank all those who volunteered, adopted, fostered and rescued! Look at all the lives saved! Please remember to spay and neuter!
